We initially looked at the acronym RAM and thought of a ram moving smoothly and confidently over treacherous
terrain, which inspired the phrase, "Surefooted financial solutions." There was also a thought about
transforming the horn of a ram into the R of RAM. But neither of those seemed complete, so Michael Zanconato, founder
of Mazmedia, was brought in to assist. We found that the Venus of Berekhat Ram was the oldest known work of art, and that symbols of
rams spread though all inhabited continents. Humankind used symbols to convey concepts and the primary concepts associated
with the ram were Power, Drive, Wisdom, and Humility. These traits are important to Redmond Asset Management’s approach
to working with clients.
Symbols of the ram varied from the zodiac Aries to
ancient art which bares resemblance to the preferred shape of a stock chart. However, we knew we had
found what we were looking for the instant we saw the ancient Adinkra symbol of the “dwennimmen” (djwin-nee-mon).
This dwennimmen is a strong graphic depiction of rams crashing heads together.
Secondly, it resembled strong Ionian columns such as those found at
The Temple of Athena Nike, located on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Ionic columns also support buildings on Wall Street
and a great number of important places around the world.
Thirdly, it reminded us (actually
just one of us) of Einstein's concept of an infinite yet bounded system. The infinite chaotic swirling is contained. In a
way, we hope to contain the chaos of the financial markets for our clients.
